Peresys extends global reach for electronic execution with Bear Stearns

Peresys, a global technology solutions provider to the financial community has connected Bear Stearns to the Peresys Business Process Network (BPN) which would enable Bear Stearns to access electronic order routing services to the South African market.

Headquartered in New York City, Bear Stearns Companies Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities trading and brokerage firm with approximately $57.6 billion in total capital. This deal has secured the addition of yet another execution venue which allows their clients to execute directly onto the Johannesburg Securities Exchange (JSE) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Peresys BPN is a secure network which focuses on low cost and efficient delivery of pre- and post trade messages associated with securities transactions. The BPN is an enabler for international counterparties to reach any other global financial institution or centre anywhere in the world via an instant messaging service. Peresys is the leading provider of electronic order routing into the South African markets.

The BPN also provides the backbone for the Peresys perFIX© HUB. This connectivity through the perFIX© HUB allows Bear Stearns clients full electronic access to the South African Equities exchange to their selected corresponding broker.

Evan Graj, Head of Global Electronic Trading Solutions EMEA, Bear Stearns International Limited, says, “Through our connectivity with the Peresys BPN, Bear Stearns clients have instant access to the South African markets. We can now quickly and efficiently meet our client’s demands for access into emerging markets, no more delays. In our line of business it is critical to be on top of what is happening in the trading markets. We look forward to growing our relationship into both new markets and different asset classes.”

“Peresys is pleased to have Bear Stearns as a client. Through this relationship Peresys has expanded the ability for the international investment community to route electronic orders into the South African market. We are now successfully bridging the divide into global trading,” concludes Richard Bell, director of UK and European operations at Peresys.
